Founded in 1946, Charles Leonard, Inc. (also commonly called CLI) offers over 1000 products tailored to the office and school supply market. Based out of Hauppauge, NY, CLI started out as basic distributor of pencil sharpeners and stationary. Initially, their product line was manufactured in Japan and then resold in the US through a small dealer network.
In 1987, LCI purchased the Omni Office Products company, which provided them ownership of 2 manufacturing facilities in Southeast Asia. This acquisition led to dramatic growth and opened the door for LCI to step into international sales.
Currently, LCI's Creative Arts line is the quickest growing segment as it targets affordable arts and crafts products for elementary age school children.
