Kraft Paper

Kraft paper is a type of paper made by what is known as the kraft process. As far as papers go, kraft is extremely durable and also coarse. Kraft paper is normally brownish in color, and typically utilized for paper grocery bags, gift wrapping, covers and also other packaging. Kraft paper is available in both sheet and also roll form, but rolls are most commonly used.

Kraft paper is made by using a method referred to as the kraft process, but it's also called kraft pulping or the sulfate process. This process focuses on technology with regard to turning wood in to a wood pulp made up of almost pure cellulose fibers. This process also involves treating wood chips with special blend of sodium hydroxide and sodium sulfide, which split the bonds that link the lignin to the cellulose. The procedure name is derived from German word kraft which means strength or even power.
